The number of drivers and cars on the road continues to increase with each year. Therefore, the demand for qualified Automotive Service Technicians continues to grow! With some employers reporting difficulty finding workers with the right skills and education, job opportunities for qualified applicants should be very good, whether they obtained their knowledge through education or experience. Of these workers, those who have completed formal postsecondary training programs or achieved ASE certification should enjoy the best job prospects.1
Each student in the full-time day program will complete an internship within the automotive industry. The internship provides each student with valuable experience in an actual work atmosphere. Additionally, the internship provides an excellent opportunity to get your foot in the door with a potential employer!
MTTI instructors are highly experienced Automotive Service technicians. Each has worked in the automotive industry for many years and meets the standards of approval by the Massachusetts Office of Private Occupational School Education (OSE) within the Division of Professional Licensure (DPL) and the ACCSC (the Accrediting Commission of Career Schools and Colleges). MTTI instructors and staff work together with Career Service Specialists to help students successfully enter new careers.
Each student receives a professional tool kit for use throughout the program. Graduates who successfully enter verified training-related employment within 90 days keep the tools to use on the job. The complete Tool Bonus Policy is outlined in the Student Orientation Booklet. Please see an Admissions Representative for complete details on the tool policy.
Students who successfully complete the 900-hour program will receive an Automotive Service Technician Diploma. Each of MTTI’s programs has been approved by the Massachusetts education agency and the ACCSC.

"The automotive program instilled me with a better confidence in diagnosing and servicing vehicles, which has been a hobby of mine. It's overall an excellent program. Everything they teach you applies to what you will be doing real time. I am happy to begin working at a dealership, doing something I love."Cameron Brule, 2019 Graduate
Apprentice Technician, BMW of Newport
"Learning electrical basics at MTTI gave me confidence to learn electrical on luxury cars. At Herb Chambers Lexus, you deal with many electrical problems. Lexus vehicles have all kinds of cool sensors, like ‘lane assist’ and ‘parking assist’. You have to be able to read the wiring diagrams to understand them. But I don’t feel blindsided when the Foremen are helping me with electrical issues—I have been prepared for that."Shawn Cornely, 2022 Graduate
Service Technician at Herb Chambers Lexus
