Medical Coders are responsible for reviewing clinical documentation and assigning standardized codes to diagnoses, procedures, and services using ICD-10 (for diagnoses), CPT (for procedures and services), and HCPCS (for Medicare/Medicaid and other services) coding systems. These codes are used for accurate medical billing, insurance claims, and recordkeeping. Coders ensure compliance with healthcare regulations and work closely with healthcare providers to clarify documentation when needed. They can work in Hospitals, Doctor’s office, Insurance companies and sometimes in remote/home-based roles.
A Medical Biller ensures healthcare providers are reimbursed for services by accurately processing and submitting insurance claims. They act as the bridge between the healthcare provider, insurance companies, and patients. They ensure accurate billing, follow up on unpaid claims, resolve billing issues, and communicate with insurance providers and patients to ensure timely reimbursement. They can work in Hospitals, Doctor’s offices/clinics, Insurance companies and Medical Billing Companies.
A Medical Office Administrator (also known as a Medical Administrative Assistant or Medical Office Assistant) plays a key role in keeping healthcare offices running smoothly. They manage the front desk, support medical staff, and ensure that patients have a positive and organized experience. They can work in Doctor’s offices, Clinics, Hospitals, Outpatient centers and Specialty practices (e.g., dental, pediatrics).

"Starting school at 40 was the scariest, most exciting decision I have ever made! I had a great experience at MTTI. Everyone I dealt with at the school is has been so encouraging; they make you feel you want to be there. I'm such a cheeleader for trade schools! They provide such good opportunities for people who don't want to invest four years of their life in getting a college degree that may not even lead to a career. I definitely recommend MTTI to anyone."
